Barbara Palacios

B�rbara Palacios is a highly respected public figure with an impeccable reputation since she became Miss Universe in 1986. Her professional career and commitment to empowering women and all people have won her good standing and deep affection among the Latino community of the United States and throughout Latin America. She was crowned Miss Universe in Panama City in 1986. Barbara has led a high-powered and productive career as a recognized spokesperson for a variety of businesses and in the television industry in both the USA and Latin America. She has hosted a variety of television programs, including the Latin Grammy Awards (5 years), Miss Venezuela (7 years), Miss Universe, the Festival of Vi�a del Mar, Miss USA, and others. In 2014, People en Espa�ol recognized B�rbara as one of the twenty-five most powerful women of the year. More recently, in 2016 she was recognized in the US Congress as one of the most influential and respected Latina women in the USA for her contribution to the promotion of Hispanic culture. With a degree in publicity and marketing and a master's in theology, B�rbara is a living example of overcoming and stability.
